Hugo Awards – Community, Doctor Who and Game of Thrones nominated

The Hugo Awards reward science-fiction and fantasy works and achievements in multiple categories on multiple mediums (TV, movies, novels, short stories, etc). The results will be announced from August 31 to September 3, 2012, at the Chicon 7 in Chicago (a 4-day ceremony ? I hope they’ll pack their sleeping bags and toothbrushes [laugh track]).

Best Dramatic Presentation (Long Form) :

Captain America – The First Avenger, written by Christopher Markus and Stephan McFeely.
Game of Thrones season 1, written by David Benioff and DB Weiss.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part II, written by Steve Kloves.
Hugo, written by John Logan.
Source Code, written by Ben Ripley.

Best Dramatic Presentation (Short Form) :

Community : Remedial Chaos Theory (episode 3.04), written by Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna.
Doctor Who : The Doctor’s Wife (episode 6.04), written by Neil Gaiman.
Doctor Who : A Good Man Goes to War (episode 6.07), written by Steven Moffat.
Doctor Who : The Girl Who Waited (episode 6.10), written by Tom MacRae.

George R.R. Martin’s A Dance With Dragons is also nominated for best novel.
